Had a great day throwing topwater plugs with long time friend/client Russ Bayner. We’ve been fishing together for 20years and no one has as much fun as this guy when fish are blasting his lure.
Fall fishing is by far my favorite time a year in the backcountry around Charlotte Harbor and Boca Grande. Salty Jaw Charters has been wrecking the Snook,Redfish and spotted Sea Trout on everything from live minnows to artificial lures. The Gulf of Mexico has had some great action of its own with Spanish mackerel, bonito and spinner sharks on the prow. So jump on a plane and give Salty Jaw Charters a call for a trip to remember Fishing in southwest Florida has been awesome this July. With summer break in full swing Salty Jaw Charters has been cranking right along catching lots of snook and mangrove snapper daily. Still plenty of tarpon and sharks around if your wanting a big tug this summer. Next month we should start to see our big schools of redfish invade the area and stick around for a couple months.
Salty Jaw Charters has been staying busy catching the mighty silver king with Lots of tarpon still cruising around the beaches of Boca Grande. More and more snapper are coming in the bay and the trout and snook fish still remains strong.
The weather has been perfect of late and Salty Jaw Charters has been getting on some nice fish. The big snook and trout bite has been great and we’re starting to see some nice mangrove snapper push into the bay as well. Lots of Tarpon are still in the area and will be all summer into the Fall.
Lots of great trips in the book this last week. The weather has been spectacular and the fish have been chewing hard. Lots of tarpon and snook with some trout and a few snappers in the mix. As summer trickles along more mangrove snapper will move in to the bay and near by passes making some great table fair.
We’ll we’ve been in a stretch of high winds this week so the tarpon fishing has been on hold. But the snook fishing is on point with good numbers on trips with a few good sized ones mixed in. We’re starting to see some nice mangrove snapper move into the bay along with schools of Spanish Mackerel. Still have a few opening so give us a call at Salty Jaw Charters to make some memories on the water.
Fishing has been rock solid!! Lots of trout and snook in the backcountry around Boca Grande and Little Gasperilla Island. The Tarpon fishing has really heated up this last week with more and more fish pushing in daily. Still have some dates available over the next couple months some come get in on the action!
Spring has sprung in southwest Florida in the Boca Grande area. Redtide has rescinded out of the area that has her send for now and the fishing has been nothing less from exceptional.

With Tarpon season right around the corner it’s not to late to get a couple days to chase the mighty silver king. The main Tarpon run starts around the middle of April and usually ends in October, with May and June being the best. |
