The top three species in the backcountry seem to be cooperating lately with lots of good numbers on snook and trout with a few reds mixed in as well. The temperatures in southwest Florida have been very enjoyable with the days consistently hitting 80 making the fish very active. As temperatures start to drop we should see the sheepshead fishing and the mackerel fishing pick up.

Tammy and Scott Rainville catching some nice fish in and around the Charlotte Harbor Boca Grande area. We’ve had our first little front of the year to cool things down and it has more fish migrating into mangrove backcountry. We’re catching fish on a mixture of live minnows, shrimp and various artificial lures.
Capt. Jesse Beye Boca Grande Inshore Fishing Charters Lots of fish to catch these days, the usual suspects snook, reds and sea trout. The water has been getting cleaner by the day which has been so nice to see. Our first cold front is hitting this Thursday which should push more fish into our backcountry to make the fishing even better. Last picture has a bald eagle keeping a watchful eye on my angler wait for a hook set and a smile.
Capt. Jesse Beye Boca Grande Backcountry Fishing Charters The weather and the fishing has been outstanding here in Southwest Florida with temperatures reaching mid 80s and having fifty to hundred fish caught on charters. The species most active have been snook, trout and jacks with some redfish, ladyfish and bluefish mixed in as well. Tripletail and cobia have started to show up in Gulf off of Boca Grande and we’re still waiting for our annual push of mackerel to come to our area, which should happen any week now.
Capt. Jesse Beye Boca Grande Fishing Charters Finally some cooler temperatures to make fishing even more enjoyable. This last week our water clarity has gotten really nice and the bay is full of life. Big schools of jacks and ladyfish invade the bay on the regular and there are a few schools of redfish still lingering around. Snook and sea trout have been munching on live minnows and crashing topwaters and artificial jigs. The snapper and mackerel bite out in the Gulf of Mexico has been pretty decent when the wind hasn’t been blowing.
