From giant Tarpon to big Snook and everything in between Salty Jaw Charters has been on fire! The weather has finally gotten right and it has provided some memorable catches.
It is full blown Tarpon season around Boca Grande with more and more showing up everyday. The fishing on the flats has been really consistent and will be for the remainder of the season. Still have a few open slots in May and June so book a trip today!

It’s been a windy spring to say the least but Salty Jaw Charters has been out bobbing around making memories. We’ve been restricted to mostly fishing in the bay and mangrove island a catching lots of snook redfish and spotted seatrout.
On the calmer days we’ve been chasing Tarpon and hooking into some big king mackerels around Boca Grande and Manasota Key. Everyday more and more Tarpon will be invading our waters so get a trip booked ASAP. The weather was absolutely gorgeous in southwest Florida this past week. The snook are starting to stack up amongst the mangrove islands around Boca Grande,Along with lots of redfish and trout. The trips in the Gulf had groupers, mangrove and lane snappers jumping on the lines in a big way.
The water temperature is getting warmer and warmer which will bring along Tarpon season before long so book your trip today. Salty Jaw Charters has been grinding hard this winter and getting into some decent fish of late. We Wrapped up last week with some nice pompano and redfish that we caught around Boca Grande and Little Gasperilla Island.
Today I poled around a good client and Friend Kurt Moore in my little skiff. We manage to catch a few redfish and trout sight casting but the snook were very skittish. Tarpon season is fast approaching so secure your date today! Scott Hocking and his dog Skipper have been coming out once a week over the winter to chase these beautiful Redfish Charlotte Harbor has to offer. We’ve been throwing mostly artificial lures and catch lots of trout with some Reds and snook mixed in from time to time.
As we creep into spring our water temperature will start to rise, more schools of bait will show up along with more predator species. Salty Jaw Charters still has some prime Tarpon dates available so book your Boca Grande Tarpon adventure today. Fishing in southwest Florida has been awesome this July. With summer break in full swing Salty Jaw Charters has been cranking right along catching lots of snook and mangrove snapper daily. Still plenty of tarpon and sharks around if your wanting a big tug this summer. Next month we should start to see our big schools of redfish invade the area and stick around for a couple months.
Salty Jaw Charters is on the bench for a few days due to tropical storm warns for the Boca Grande area. Fishing has been great this last week everything seems to be extremely hungry.
Snook and spotted sea trout has been good along with Tarpon if your looking for something big to tug on. Starting to see really nice snapper show up around our passes which make for some great table fare. Still have a few open spots in June so come have some fun with Salty Jaw Charters! Fishing has been on to say the least around Boca Grande and Manasota Key. Lots of snook and nice trout in the back waters of Charlotte Harbor with some pompanos mixed in once and awhile. The mackerels have started to show up along the beaches and in the harbor as the water temperatures steadily head in the right direction. Tarpon season is coming fast and is right around the corner so get you a spot before it all fills up.
October has been a hot month for just about every species but the the front runner has to be the redfish. Lots of big schools of redfish are still in the area and if you can find them your day will be epic. The snook fishing around Manasota key and Boca Grande is still on fire along with trout and big Jacks. In the next month with cooler temperatures we should see bunches of king and Spanish mackerel around Manasota key and Boca Grande.
