Lots of great trips in the book this last week. The weather has been spectacular and the fish have been chewing hard. Lots of tarpon and snook with some trout and a few snappers in the mix. As summer trickles along more mangrove snapper will move in to the bay and near by passes making some great table fair.

Spring has sprung in southwest Florida in the Boca Grande area. Redtide has rescinded out of the area that has her send for now and the fishing has been nothing less from exceptional.
Salty Jaw Charters has been catching a lot of snook, redfish and spotted sea trout in amongst the mangrove islands. Tarpon season is right around the corner and we have a few slots still open, so call us today to book your tarpon adventure of a lifetime. The fishing has been red hot this month with the water temps pushing into the mid 70s. The snook and trout have been very active chasing schools of bait eating live minnows and chasing our topwater plugs. Before long we will get our big tarpon migration so get the last few slot that are open in May and June!!
Salty Jaw Charters has been grinding hard with Redtide coming and going in and out of the area. But with 30 square miles and over a 100 mangrove island to hide from it we’ve been catching some great fish.
Lots of big trout, snook and redfish have been chew lately on live minnows and shrimp. With Tarpon season right around the corner make sure you get yourself a couple dates to tug on mighty silver king. What a a gorgeous start to this week with weather in the 80s. This last weekend we had a cold front come through and the fishing was tough for a few days. But the fish were back jumping on the line today, couldn’t hardly keep the trout and ladyfish from jumping on the line.
We’re Catching lots of sheepshead and snapper in the Gulf of Mexico and that should continue steady for the next two months. Before long the mighty silver kings will be showing up to our shores so get your tarpon dates booked before they are all gone! Salty Jaw Charters has been plugging along and catching some nice fish around the Boca Grande area. Lots of nice trout are jump ing on the line with a few redfish and snook as well. Out in the Gulf of Mexico we’ve been catching a few triple tail along with lots of sheepshead and snapper.
Tarpon season is booking up fast for May and June so gets some days on the calendar to chase the mighty diver king. Had the pleasure of fishing with long time client and friend Russ Bayner on his 80th birthday this year. We got into some smaller triple tails while breaking in my new motor along the beaches. Lots of great fishing to be had this winter in between the cold fronts chasing grouper, mackerel, snappers, sheepshead in the Gulf of Mexico. We’re seeing decent numbers of redfish, snook and spotted seatrout in and around the backcountry of Charlotte Harbor as well.
The fishing has been on fire big schools of redfish have paraded into charlotte harbor making for some rod bending insanity. The mangrove snapper,snook and trout fishing are fallowing suit with lots of action on the right tides.
Before long cooler temperatures will be bringing kingfish, cobia and some others close to our shores off of Boca Grande. So don’t hesitate call us and get a trip in the books to bend some rods! Capt. Salty Jaw Charters has been laying the smack down on some great fish this week as people pour into Florida for the chance a catching a trophy fish. The fishing in the backcountry shallows has remained on fire seeing 50-60 fish on half day charters. The Gulf of Mexico has Been decent catching sheepshead, Spanish mackerels and a few sharks mixed in from time to time. With tarpon season starting in about a month now is the time to get booked to chase the mighty silver king around the bay.
